I love avocados. Whether plain with just a sprinkle of salt and pepper, or mashed into that delectable concoction known as guacamole, in my eyes, avocados can do no wrong. Maybe you love avocados too. Or maybe you don’t. You think they look weird, taste weird, and have absolutely no place on your food plate− let alone in your smoothie.
And for those of you who like to get your food porn fix by stalking healthy food blogs, and Instagram accounts, I know you’ve most certainly seen avocados turn up in a lot of smoothies. Maybe you’ve marveled at the sexiness of an avocado smoothie, wondered about trying one, but then skepticism takes over.
All I can say to that is− You’re missing out!
Avocados are a magic ingredient that will totally transform your smoothie game for a couple key reasons. For one, they provide a uniquely silky texture to smoothies, without an overbearing taste. Second, avocados can give real substance to what might otherwise be an otherwise blah smoothie. For example, by adding avocados to smoothies, you’ll end up reaping a ton of health benefits due to their high content of protein, healthy fats, fiber and potassium.
So, now that I’ve sufficiently big-upped avocados and avocado smoothies, let’s get to the good stuff!
