Our bodies are approximately 60% water – give or take – which means that water is an incredibly important nutrient that we should all make sure to get enough of each day through our diet.
Now today’s blog post is going to be relatively short and sweet, and we’re just going to quickly discuss how much water you should be drinking each day. And the reason why I don’t want to make this blog post too long is because I know that most (if not all of you reading this) have heard time and time again how important it is to drink water everyday… but you’re probably not quite sure how much water you should be drinking. Most of us have heard the general “8 glasses of water a day” rule. This is often called the 8×8 rule, and while it is very easy to remember this number, there really is no science behind the 8×8 rule. And given that water is such an important nutrient for maintaining our overall health and wellness, I prefer to go with what the experts suggest when it comes to water intake. So without further delay, here’s how much water you should drink each day according to one of the most respected Nutrition authorities:
*The Food and Nutrition Board suggests women drink 91 ounces of water per day and men should drink 125 ounces of water per day. This recommendation is an average and can vary based on your age, weight, pregnancy, etc… This recommendation includes water from food and drinks.
The above stated, drinking water comes with many wonderful health and beauty benefits, and drinking water can also help to prevent a host of health problems. Unfortunately, many women and men simply don’t drink enough water each day, and if you can acknowledge that you’ve also slacked off a bit on your water intake, I hope today’s blog post encourages you to step up your water game!
Last but not least, if you don’t particularly like the taste of “plain water,” there are also high-quality nutritional supplements that you can use to upgrade your plain, boring water by giving it a boost in nutrition and taste! Also, you can try more simple options to enhance your water like adding a couple lemon slices or a splash of fruit juice for an extra hint of flavor.
And that concludes today’s blog post! Short and sweet, as promised.😉 Thanks for stopping, and as always ladies, I hope you enjoyed the information shared. Stay Beautiful!
