2 Common Diet Mistakes That Cause Crazy Hunger + Cool Ways to Suppress Appetite (VIDEO)

Hunger and cravings

So many people equate dieting with misery. Which makes perfect sense because countless people also believe that the act of dieting should involve feeling like you’re literally starving to death while your stomach growls like a rabid Chihuahua. But what if I told you that there are countless people (like myself) that can go for ridiculously long periods of time without eating….. and still lose weight…. without feeling a lick of hunger!

Truth be told, the reason why so many people on diets feel hungry all the time is because they are making a few rookie mistakes that are setting themselves up to crave food even more. Check out my video below to find out what those mistakes are, and also check out the cool, random and scientifically proven ways to suppress hunger that I’ve listed below!

Cool, Random and Scientifically Proven Ways to Suppress Hunger

1. Pinch your nose or earlobes for 10 seconds.

This is an ancient acupressure secret and a study published in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine showed that weight patients who used acupressure techniques were able to maintain their weight loss better than those who didn’t.

2. Brighten up your kitchen and dining area.

Studies show that dim lights tend to lower your inhibitions, which means dim lights will make you feel more relaxed and more likely to overindulge in food– among other things. 😉

3. Get some apple cider vinegar in your life.

I’ve written about the awesomeness of apple cider vinegar before, and studies show that ACV can help suppress hunger by improving digestion, balancing blood sugar, and reducing the hunger hormone ghrelin.

4. Eat from blue plates.

Yes, it sounds weird and totally random, but research has shown that the color blue is a natural appetite suppressant. On the flip side, the colors red, yellow and orange have been shown to increase appetite.

5. Brush your teeth.

This I can personally attest to, and many people find that minty toothpaste will totally ruin the taste of even the most yummiest food – thus effectively curing your immediate hunger and cravings.

6. Take a daily multivitamin.

Oftentimes hunger and specific food cravings are just the way that our bodies try to tell us that we are deficient in certain nutrients. For example, craving chocolate can be sign of magnesium deficiency. And thus, an easy way to avoid nutrient deficiencies that can cause hunger is to eat a balanced diet and also make sure you take a high-quality daily multivitamin.
